Conduct a survey of sample student population to determine the following:

Current knowledge of personal finance

Current courses taken in high school to determine any gaps
Design
The BSLMT plans to develop the IMU with the following content and criteria:

Basic introduction of personal finance topics as identified in the needs analysis

Learning games or quizzes to reinforce the topics

Structured lessons for each of the main topics of instruction
Development
The BSLMT plans to divide information into the 3 main areas of instruction:

Credit

What is credit?
-
How do we manage credit wisely?

Credit exercise or quiz
-

Personal Banking
-
How to balance a check book
-
What is an overdraft?
-
Banking exercise or quiz
-

Budgeting
-
What is a budget?
-
How do we create a budget
-
Budgeting exercise or quiz

Implementation
The BSLMT will complete the following steps for implementation of the IMU:

Request peer feedback from multimedia class
-
Test the lessons with sample population and solicit feedback
-
Circulate lesson plan to teachers for review and feedback

Analyze and incorporate feedback received
Evaluation
In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the Personal Finance Education IMU, the BSLMT will take the following actions:

Publish the IMU and share the link with high school administrators to be distributed to the target audience.

Request feedback from administrators once the IMU has been completed
-
Survey the target population after they have completed the IMU and compare the results to the survey conducted before the IMU was completed
